Obituary for Dr. Steven F. Mucci

It is with great sadness we would like to announce the passing of Steven F. Mucci M.D. of East Sandwich, MA after a valiant fight against lung cancer. Steven was born on February 23,1960 and grew up in Arlington, MA. He graduated from Arlington High School, class of 1978. He graduated from Tufts University class of 1982, B.S. in Biology (Magna Cum Laude) and went on to graduate from Tufts University Medical School, Boston, MA class of 1988 where he received his medical degree. He also worked at the Tufts University School of Medicine Department of Immunology, Boston, MA and Massachusetts Institute of Technology Genetic Engineering Laboratory, Cambridge, MA before attending medical school. Steven interned in general surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH from 1988-1990. He went on to do his Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Residency at The Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA from 1990-1993. As luck would have it, he returned to practice and live in his beloved Massachusetts. He became a Board Certified Otolaryngologist and was employed at Cape Cod Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists, Hyannis, MA.
Steven is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Patricia (Farrell) Mucci. Beloved son and daughter Andrew Mucci of East Sandwich, MA and Evelyn Mucci of Melrose, MA. His parents, Franklin and Marie Mucci of Medford, MA, sisters Karen Mucci, of Hollywood, FL and Patricia and wife Nicole Mucci of Medford, MA. Mother-in-law, Mary Farrell of Providence, RI, sister and brother in law, Nancy and Frank Luca of Smithfield, RI and brother and sister in law, Gerald and Donna Farrell of Pawtucket, RI. He was the son-in-law of the late Gerald Farrell. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at The Bigelow Chapel, Mount Auburn Cemetery, 580 Mount Auburn Street, Cambridge, MA on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute 450 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA .02215. May thanks to the doctors and staff at the Dana Farber and Cape Cod Healthcare, and VNA Hospice for their wonderful care.
Steve was an avid Boston sports fan who loved a daily iced coffee from DD, the New York Times Crossword Puzzle, working at Ring Bros Marketplace in Dennis, MA, and his dachshund Karl.
