Bradley Robert Grill of Woburn, MA passed unexpectedly on July 18, 2019. Beloved father of Adam and Henry Grill of Arlington. Brad was a devoted father who was very involved in both of his boy’s sports and education. Brad graduated from Boston College and began his career and love of food in the restaurant business. He was a hard working artistic landscaper and arborist. Brad was known for selflessly helping others and had a keen sense for understanding when others needed help.

It's with great sorrow that my wife and I learned of Brad's passing. We have often called on Brad for help with our lawn and landscape during our 20+ years of living near him in Arlington. Though our children weren't in the same grade, I would often see him at elementary school drop offs. He was always cheerful and pleasant. I'd sometimes run into him at Starbucks, and he always had a wave and a kind word. In the early part of Summer 2019, he rebuilt a portion of our fence, replacing some rotted posts and rails. We will always miss Brad's kindness. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. Rest In Peace Brad. -Rick Umali

Dear Friend

My friend went to heaven today,
There's so many words I would love to say,
I miss you already and you've not been gone long,
I keep wondering why things had to go wrong.

I went daily to Starbucks and coffee did buy,
Sat at a table with my little guy (Shane),
A shy little thing, he shouted “banana man I see,”
This was my encounter with Mr Bradley.

Each day we'd say hi and exchange some chatter,
The years would pass and what would it matter,
We grew close over time and a friendship did bloom,
It would be forever, I did assume.

I sit and I think there's a reason why,
I can't understand as I look up to the sky,
My friend, my work colleague, I'll miss you forever,
With lawns, flowers and stone you were just so clever.

My buddy, my sidekick you were always just there,
I don't know why this happened, it doesn't seem fair,
I'll miss you always, I know this is true,
Our friendship was strong which is why I'm so blue.

I'm so glad to have met you and called you a friend,
I never imagined this friendship would end,
Please rest easy dear Brad, I hope you will see,
I'll go on and be brave without you with me.

Brad was an amazingly kind person to me. In a meeting where I knew very few people and often felt like I didn’t belong, Brad always greeted me by name and asked about my life. I miss him very much and will always be thankful for his generous spirit.
